DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS (effective
from May 1, 2002).
To travel to Armenia, foreign citizens must obtain a visa from the
Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. Those intending to travel to
other CIS countries either before or after their entry into
Armenia must obtain a separate visa from their appropriate
embassies.
To obtain a visa, an applicant is required to submit the following
paperwork to the Consular Section:
-
Completed visa application form, one per applicant, which can be
obtained from the Embassy (it can be copied),
-
One professional passport-size color or black-and-white photo of
the applicant, attached to the application form. (If a minor
is included in the applicant's passport and is traveling along,
his/her photo must be attached next to the applicant's),
-
The original passport of the applicant.
-
Holders of TRAVEL DOCUMENTS are required to contact the Consul
of the Embassy
prior to applying for a visa.
-
Money order/certified check with exact amount of consular fee
(see below).
If applying for a visa by mail, applicants must enclose a pre-paid
return envelope
(Express, Registered, Purolator, FedEx, etc.)
DURATION OF STAY
No letter of invitation is required from Armenia to obtain a
single-entry tourist visa if the
duration of stay will not exceed 21 days.

For private visits of longer than 21 days (ordinary visa), an
invitation processed through the Ministry of Internal Affairs of
Armenia is required.
Official and business visas, single or multi-entry, can only be
issued upon an official invitation from a qualifying entity in
Armenia, processed through the Foreign Affairs
Ministry of Armenia. Otherwise, the applicant is eligible to a
tourist visa with duration of stay of 21 days.
Transit visas are issued upon travel tickets or itinerary, when
Armenia is used as a stopping point to travel on to another
country.
PAYMENT
Payment of the visa-processing fee must be made by a certified
check or money order payable to:
Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. No cash or personal
checks are accepted.
